Help us shape a sustainable urban future for Northeast India
PROBLEM STATEMENT
Urban planning and mobility decision-making often remain top-down, with limited structured input from the very people who are most affected—residents, commuters, and frontline mobility users. As a result, policies and interventions can miss lived realities, overlook diverse needs, and struggle with adoption and long-term sustainability.
There is a critical need to bridge the gap between communities and decision-makers, ensuring that public voices are not only heard, but meaningfully integrated into planning processes.
OUR APPROACH
PURVCA’s Commonhoods vertical places community engagement at the centre of urban transformation. It is a key differentiator of our work—ensuring that mobility systems are shaped by the people who use them daily.
Through this program, we bring community insights to the forefront of public policy and decision-making using structured, inclusive, and scalable engagement processes. We create platforms where citizens are not passive beneficiaries, but active participants and co-creators of change.
