We are looking for a Junior Engagements Associate to support our grassroots work in Guwahati. This role involves field-based activities as well as coordination from the office, with a strong focus on interacting with communities, educational institutions, local businesses, and civic bodies.
The ideal candidate will be someone based in Guwahati who is enthusiastic about cycling, walking, and engagement activities.
Key Responsibilities:
Community Outreach: Engage with residents, local leaders, various groups to raise awareness and involve them in cycling, walking, road safety and public transport-related programs.
Institutional Engagement: Coordinate with schools, colleges, and workplaces for campaigns, surveys, and events promoting active mobility and climate action.
Field Data Collection: Assist in collecting primary data through surveys, interviews, walkability audits, handlebar surveys, mapping exercises related to mobility, transportation and road safety.
Event Support: Help organize and facilitate on-ground events like Open Streets, cycle rallies, rides, walks, workshops, or safety campaigns.
Documentation & Reporting: Maintain records of outreach activities, assist in data entry, basic analysis, and support in preparing field reports.
Collaboration: Work closely with project teams, volunteers, and interns to ensure effective implementation of activities.
Social Media Support (optional): Capture photos, videos, short stories, or quotes from the field for sharing on social media (with support from communications team).
Experience: 0 to 6 months
Essential Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in any discipline
Excellent communication skills in Assamese, Hindi, and basic English
Willingness to travel locally and work in the field regularly
Basic familiarity with MS Word, Excel, and Google Forms/Sheets
A strong interest in Cycling, Walking, Community engagements
Prior experience in community outreach, surveys, or grassroots campaigns
Comfortable using a cycle to travel for fieldwork
Active involvement in youth groups, local clubs, or NGOs
Employment Duration:
Fixed-term, 1-year contract with potential for renewal based on performance and company requirements.
